Udaipur when we talk about, is nothing short of a fairy land…
I got a chance to visit the ‘City of Lakes’ during one of my best friend destination wedding. We all guests were given a great welcome and our Palace stay was at ‘Shree Vilas’ one of the finest hotels near Shrinathji Temple. Shrinathji Temple is one of the most famed temples in India; it’s believed that the idol of Lord Krishna worshipped in this temple has appeared from itself near Govardan Hill. However, coming to the venue, the wedding was hosted at the ‘Shree Vilas’ resort, facing the lake Pichola. One of the best thing about this lake resort is its stunning views and all rooms are lake facing.
Yeah! Trust me all rooms in this hotel is lake facing.
The rooms were lavishly decorated and adorned with royal touch. The basic amenities, facilities, and above all the five star stay was no short of living in a ‘Persian Palace’. I really enjoyed my stay at ‘Shree Vilas’.
I was notified by someone in the morning that ‘City Palace is one historical symbol not to be missed. Someone further added no tour is complete without a boat cruise at ‘Lake Pichola’. But, I started on my own instinct to explore the ‘Venice of East’. I unmasked in this journey the most exciting and fascinating museum of my life. From vintage cars to crystals the ‘City Palace Museum’ is just worth investing time.
I will just share some of the intriguing features of the museum…
1. The main entrance leading to the museum of ‘City Palace’ is known as ‘Badi Pol’.
2. Manek Chowk the emerald courtyard is the most beloved part of the museum. It’s adorned today with ‘book, clothing, souvenir shops, and the Palki Khana restaurant’. The star attraction is however, the sound and light show hosted at the chowk every evening’.
3. Pratap Gallery is the center of attraction for history, war, and heroism lovers. The gallery is dedicated to the legends of ‘Maharana Pratap the warrior and his brave horse Chetak’. It also displays the armors, weapons and original shields used by ‘Maharana Pratap’ in the battle of ‘Haldighati’.
4. Toran Pol: The Toran Pol is the gate of exit and the wooden structure hanging in the gateway is to be touched by the royal bridegroom on his wedding night with sword.
The other important features are ‘Ganesh Deodhi, Badi Mahal, Badi Chitrashali Chowk, Mor Chowk, and Zeenana Mahal’. Whenever, you visit Udaipur always ensure to book in advance any natural lake view hotel Udaipur. The hotels are in high demand here, so always book in advance. Even, Shree Vilas is good…
